Schmincke Horadam Gouache is more than just opaque watercolour. Since no white is added to Horadam Gouche to artifically boost its covering power, it can create crisp colour blends like no other gouache. Of the 48 colours, all but 8 are based on a single pigment.

Like Horadam Watercolours, colours thin with water and are easily rewetted if left to dry on the palette. Horadam Gouache is so finely ground, it can even be used for 0.15 mm airbrush work.

Many other brands of gouache are "designer" gouaches, with an emphasis on accurate pre-mixed colours for use by the designer. By contrast, Horadam is a "fine artist" gouache, with an emphsis on providing the classic range of pigments as pure, single-pigment colours
