Artists Acrylic Paints

GOLDEN OPEN Acrylics
OPEN Acrylics are a new line of colors and mediums for professional artists designed with a unique set of working properties that represent a true departure from all other acrylics on the market and that dramatically expand the range of techniques that are available to artists who prefer to use acrylics.
OPEN Acrylics are formulated with an optimum balance of pigment load and 100% acrylic polymer dispersion to produce a paint with a uniquely relaxed set of working characteristics and a versatility that allows artists to explore a wider range of techniques such as portraiture and landscape painting that rely on softening, shading, glazing, and creating fine detail.
OPEN Acrylics resist skinning, remain wet on the palette for extended periods and exhibit a remarkable versatility that allows them to be used directly from the tube for plein air painting, monoprinting and screenprinting. OPEN Acrylics may be blended with other GOLDEN Acrylic Colors, Mediums and Gels, with the open time of the resulting mixtures being proportionately reduced. To maintain the maximum working time of OPEN Acrylics, use OPEN Mediums and Thinner.
As the original line of paints from GOLDEN, these Heavy Body acrylics are known to be exceptionally smooth with a thick, buttery consistency. They contain the largest assortment of unique pure pigments in a 100% acrylic emulsion vehicle available to the professional artist. These colors offer excellent permanency and lightfastness. There are no fillers, extenders, opacifiers, toners, or dyes added. Each Heavy Body color is formulated differently depending on the nature of the pigment. Colors that tolerate higher pigment "loads" dry to a more opaque, matte finish. Colors that are more reactive and do not accept high pigment loading, dry to a glossy finish and tend to be more transparent. Heavy Body colors contain no additives, such as matting agents, therefore the gloss of each color will be different.
Winsor and Newton proudly present Finity Artists' Acrylic Colors. Each Finity color is made with permanent, concentrated pigments, and all have a rich buttery consistency, much like traditional oils. These acrylics may be worked with for up to 30 minutes, allowing creativity to flow from your brush to your canvas with ease. Give these fantastic acrylics a try today. We just know you'll be glad you did!

Neither a gouache nor an acrylic, it opens up totally new areas for exploration
· It dilutes delicately for washes.
· It can be built up in layers.
· It remains workable for as long as it is kept moist, because it does not form a skin as it dries (a water atomiser keeps it workable).
· It is very aesthetically pleasing to use for anyone who likes water based media effects, but has the advantage of being overpaintable for alterations or subtle layering effects.
· It is totally unlike acrylics to work with, yet it has the acrylic sturdiness and flexibility to permit large major works on paper or canvas, or it can be used for the smaller "works on paper" which many painters like to show with other larger works.
