Sennelier Paint Sticks should be applied in a thin film no thicker than 1mm. Overlapping layers, as with regular oil paint, are acceptable and can be thinned with petroleum or turpentine when needed. Prior to use, the skin must be removed from the stick; the film will reappear within a few days. Depending on the thickness of the application and environmental conditions, the paint will dry in 2-5 days. Clear mediums are also available, allowing transparency and glazing effects to be achieved. This artists' quality paint is available in both opaque and transparent shades, and can be stored without special attention, avoiding heat sources. After a drying period of at least 6 months, it may be finished with an oil paint varnish.
